托福口语三选一话题，三选一话题给了考生三个选择，缩小了选择范围，让考生在短时间内更有方向；同时也增加了难度，让考生很难天马行空、自由发挥。经常有学生这样和我说：“东哥，每次遇到三选一题，乍看之下选择了一个自己觉得最好说的选项，但是说到后面，觉得越来越难，磕磕绊绊，非常卡。”
在此和大家分享一个三选一话题的回答逻辑，大家先通过一个小例子来揣摩一下我的答题结构。
If you are going to eat out with friends, which restaurant would you choose? Haidilao hotpot restaurant, KFC, or Kungfu restaurant?（如果和朋友聚餐，你会选择海底捞、肯德基还是真功夫？）
Personally speaking, I would choose Haidilao hotpot restaurant because their service is great and the waiters are friendly. Also, it's a good place for friends to eat together. On the other hand, KFC and Kungfu restaurant are not suitable because fast food restaurants are not good places for gathering.
我会选择海底捞，因为服务好，服务员很热情，而且火锅特别适合和朋友一起吃。另一方面，肯德基和真功夫是不合适的，因为快餐店不是聚会的好地方。
不难看出，回答问题的结构分为两步：
Step 1: 做出一个选择，给出正面理由。
Personally speaking, I would choose A, because…
Step 2: 用逻辑连接词on the other hand给出其他选项的负面理由。
On the other hand, …are not ideal/suitable because…

What do you think is the best background for a political leader? Military,business or law background?

I think a business background is the best for a leader. This is because business requires a lot of interaction with people, both positive and negative. Business people need to please clients and be persuasive, both helpful in diplomacy. They also need to deal with negative and high-pressure situations, such as firing employees or dealing with financial loss,which again is a good quality for leaders.
On the other hand, military and law backgrounds are not suitable. Military people may have a tendency to be too harsh and blunt, and may be even aggressive, which will make them unlikeable. Those from a law background will be unsuitable because they mostly speak to others in law, so they will find it difficult to connect with ordinary people, even if they are good at persuading others.
